Cannot recall the name of the moving company, but, it was nationally known... we contracted to be moved on a certain day and they were to arrived at 8 a.m., which came and went. By noon, they promised to arrived the next day, but, turns out, it was the NEXT day they came before noon. I was told that moving companies cannot necessarily perform as is promised each time. Too much is dependent upon variables.

We used United Van Lines and the local company performed extremely well. They did everything they said they would do. The company is A-Mrazek Moving Systems Inc in metro St. Louis.

Default had a very good experience

I should point out the move was coordinated by Swartz Moving and Storage and they did a very good job. My job uses them and says they have always had good service.

the driver who delivered my stuff was excellent; he tells me he is an independent contractor but always works for United.

Jackie, I am very glad you had a good experience with United. The sales office/coordinator makes all the difference. Best wishes in your new place !

My husband's company uses United for corporate relo. We have been through it twice. The movers were fine, but what made everything go smoothly was the person at my husband's company who was charged with making sure it did. We called her with any concerns or questions, and she handled them.

The only complaint we had was the packers. They packed everything, even damp sponges from the kitchen. Not a lot of common sense there.

A couple of items were damaged, and the claims were quickly handled.

a possible alternative for you would be to use a pods type service... you can even hire someone to pack and unpack the pod. The pods company has references for loading and packing contracters
