We're moving back to Minneapolis too

Google is your friend for "ABF promo codes". There is a $50 off one that is pretty easy to find

Yup, I was able to 'stack' both a $25 for booking online and a $50 off-- just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something bigger, thanks!

Glad to hear that you've had a great experience previously with ABF.. we haven't moved in over 11 years and our last move was a full corporate relo, so this is vastly different. Got a full service quote for approximately $8K, ABF will cost us $3200ish, plus we'll hire help at either end for another $400 or so.

Good Luck Elly.

For our part, the new tile floor in the kitchen and utility are in now. We had a "man-made floating floor" and got water under it. Ruined it completely, so it had to be replaced. Final major repair job is scheduled for Monday (Door sanding, painting).

And we start setting up for the garage sale on Monday.

Our first house showing is tomorrow, which is great, because we just officially listed it today!

Meanwhile, I got our porch all set up today. The patio furniture and such were not out until today.

Sold off my wall unit, our fish tank and stand, plus our air hockey table in the last few days-- all to friends. Going to list the rest of the furniture this coming week. Have a friend coming over to grab some items to list locally on CL and some mom's groups, I'm giving her a cut of the selling price in exchange for her dealing with it (and I'm SO glad to get this stuff out of my house-- yay!) Same friend also works for a non-profit, so I'll be donating anything that doesn't sell to her organization. Perfect.

Had two full service moving companies come out to give us quotes yesterday and today-- not that we're going to use a full service mover, but I wanted to get estimates of what our move will weigh so I could use that to ensure that our belongings will fit into one 28' ABF trailer-- looks like they will with room to spare, yay!

Changed our moving date with ABF and booked loading help with U-Haul: Moving Help moving labor service. Have two hours of help for only $110; $45/hour plus a $20 travel fee (additional hours, if need be, are $35/hour).

Coordinating with my friend (a professional photographer) to photograph our house before we sell off the furniture.. not thrilled about listing the house while it's empty, but taking our stuff with us makes the most sense.

Things are starting to come together.. finally!

I hear you about not wanting to sell the house empty. I don't think my house would show well without furniture.

Sounds like you have things under control.

SO, I think that I just decided to NOT move our items up when we go up in early June.. I think we'll pack up EVERYTHING other than the artwork and furniture so the house is ready to be loaded into the moving van. Then I'll fly back here to FL when our house sells and/or we find a place in MN. The storage will cost us $395/month and that's more than a r/t flight for just me... and I have friends and family here in FL that can help me, if need be.

Just when I think I've made a decision, I reverse it, LOL.. but I think that this makes sense, I, too, don't think that our house will show well without being staged.
