I know it is frustrating, but it is getting done. Good for you.

So, we are starting to shut down our business here, have got the beginnings of moving our licenses to FL (RE appraiser). And have scheduled our December cruise out of Ft Lauderdale, where we just drive over instead of fighting the airtime, etc.

Listed several things on Craigslist today. But if they don't sell there or at our last yard sale, off to the trash with them.

Just gave away a truckload to goodwill... And another one went to the dump.

Well I think that's the fastest I've sold something on Craigslist. Put it up for sale before 2 today, got it out of the house by 6:30!

Love it when a plan works out like that.

Our son graduates from law school this AM, then the graduation party tomorrow night. Only one more family thing to do before the move.

The load up for Sunday's trip down with the first load starts Saturday.

My mom and I started cleaning and packing up the back room last week. Got rid of a bunch of stuff that belonged to my grandparents. They were almost like hoarders, they bought and kept a million and one things and now we have to go through everything and organize it all. It's a lot of work.

Mom's going to have a moving sale in a couple of weeks.

There isn't too much that we're going to take with us. My mom's going to get rid of a lot of her furniture and buy new ones when she buys a new house. I pretty much just have my bedroom furniture to take.

Our "due date" will probably be next June, we've decided to buy another house than the one we're renting.

Ok, so, now I have about a year's timeline.

Here's what I'm doing now:

Opening an Ebay store, and sell stuff I no longer wish to haul around with me, mostly china, figurines, Christmas ornaments, that type of stuff. Its all near and dear to me, but a hassle to pack, store, ship, then store again! My dh and I are both early 60's, time to start pruning. I figure the more time I have, the better price I can get, I'm in no great hurry right now.

Also, try Ruby Lane to sell vintage and antiques.

Making copies of some important keepsakes, such as old photo albums, etc, then send the originals "back home". For example, I've found an historical society in PA that expressly wants picture of people from from Victorian/Edwardian times. Perfect place for my g-grandmother's photo albums, I will keep copies.

One thing I can't wait for when I move to FL... Resident rates on cruises and no flying to get there!

Tomorrow is Round Two. We are nervous after last week's fiasco. Hopefully, everything will be finished. In the meanwhile, the kitchen is pretty much unpacked. We are still missing a box of stemware but it is not anything that we NEED right now. We were missing a lot of our forks/spoons/knives. Yesterday, we went back to the old house and looked in the dishwasher and sure enough, there they were.

We figured out the living room set up-just needs to be tweaked just a bit. Once the movers put everything that SHOULD have been put in the garage in the first place, we will have more room to move around and it will be easier for us to find things and put things away.
