After I move in to my new place, I will need a kitchen table and a dresser. Where should I go to get a good deal and how do I deal with needing someone to deliver it and carry it in, etc.?

It depends on your location, taste and budget!

Almost all furniture stores offer delivery. They will bring it in and put it right where you want it. Pretty standard.

Find a store that does nothing but furniture, many can be quite affordable. Cheapest is big box stores like Target, Big Lots, etc. but I don't think they will deliver.

Or you could rent a pick up truck (or whatever vehicle is cheapest) and do it yourself with a friend if you have one in the new neighborhood.

Maybe Salvation Army's thrift shop will deliver for a small donation fee? I know they have movers for picking up stuff, maybe they can deliver some used furniture (if bought at their store) as well. Just a thought. Will there be one in your new neighborhood?
