I cannot WAIT for the summer. The hotter the better, trust me. I do not need 4 seasons, I only need one. SUMMER. I am excited to finally be happy all year round.
Please be careful in the heat. I grew up in Palm Springs, and oftentimes people who are used to cold, rain and snow don't consider the heat to be "weather." I've recently moved to Washington, and I can tell you having 3 days during the summer get over 90 is MUCH different from highs of 120s with a LOW in the 80s. Drink lots of water, don't be overly active when it's over 100, and only walk the dogs early or late in the day. The ground will burn their feet.

I've had much less experience with cold, since mostly I left socal, but LOTS of experience with hundred plus days. I would MUCH rather sit in during a spate of twenty degree weather than try to stay cool at 110. Summer I live in front of the AC. When it gets that hot, and you aren't used to it, be very very very careful about dehydration. Drink some kind of amended drink like gatoraide. Stay out of sun. Hibernate during the day. You can aclimate in time but if you're not used to that kind of temps your body doesn't adjust well.
I remember retrurning home to the coast from Phoenix, which was 120 when I left, and feeling cold in the summer. It gets hot here in OK during the summer, and is humid, but not as bad (usually) as socal. In terms of functioning, I'd rather it be cold. You can always add layers.
As long as you can pay the "Sun Tax," why not just go? The sun tax is the cost of living exceeding the average income or at least depressing wages due to a nice climate bringing people into an area such as Socal, Florida, Phoenix.

Weather is an EXCELLENT reason to move. I live in a borderline subarctic climate and spend my childhood growing up in a subtropical desert climate. Both climates suck balls. I want to eventually move to a temperate climate with 4 distinct yet moderate seasons (i.e. the type that exist in continental Europe).

Trust me, I will! I loved the 100+ degree days in Iowa with 90% humidity when everyone else was complaining. My dogs, too, love the heat.
I'm already an avid sunscreen user and have a good water habit. I'll be fine. I'd much rather be hot than cold!

ElleTea...........I go for a daily walk at 1 in the afternoon where I live in the Ozarks of Arkansas. I have done that even on days the bank temp was flashing 109.
I missed many days of going for a walk in winter in MN due to low sub zero temps and dangerously low wind chills.
I've turned down jobs that were in the snow belt. Just no freaking way would I move to someplace where I need a coat six months out of the year.
