Let's Pretend (Uhaul, truck, furniture, ship)

Ok, we want to move out of state, FL to be exact. The two of us and 3 small dogs. All we have to move stuff with is a big Dodge Ram 1500with a cap on the back and a Chevy Impala. NOW, seriously, how and what can we best pack up these two things with wheels to get us to the place we want to be? We have the usual furniture but we are going to get rid of all big stuff. We are just going to try and get our stuff in all totes or should we just cram stuff in the car? We will of course pull the car cause it would be really hard to see to drive Thank you.

Like all the other threads say:
-rid yourself of whatever won't fit into that truck/car that isn't worth hauling.
-rid yourself of anything else that won't fit INTO a box
-pick through what's left for what has actual value **to you**
-load the truck/car up to the gills with your boxes
-sell or give away or ship the rest

Rent a small uhaul for smaller furniture. You could sell your furniture off and just pick up used ones when you get there off of craigslist. I moved by myself twice in Nissan Frontier midsized truck with a topper. I had a lawn chair and plastic bins as my furniture for a month or so, but I had room for my bed still, barely. I packed all my clothes into two boxes, down from 5 and just donated the rest of the crap I never used. I also had a lot of books, dvds, cds, and things of that nature that I was able to sell off.
