I have a nice (expensive) washer/dryer set that is only 6 months old. I want to move them from PA to FL. Was told by the movers that the washer needs shipping bolts installed to secure the drum, but my research has led me to believe that these are just for front loaders. Mine is a top load, but it's still HE with a fancy drum. The manual only mentions a foam block, which unfortunately we didn't save. I can't seem to find a replacement foam block. Can I just secure the drum with my own cushioning?
My new top load washer came with a metal rod that was removed when it was delivered. I think I will tuck it away - just in case if I ever need to move the washer in the future. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer's customer service line to see if you can order the appropriate piece to properly secure it for moving?
