How timely for us!

There's a community-wide garage sale next Saturday! Its at the local community center. we do have to transport our stuff and stay with it to sell it, but it always attracts a lot of buyers. Ten percent of proceeds go to a local charity, so, people feel a bit more generous.

My DS owes me some money, its for a fine he didn't pay off.....I figured better for me to pay the fine and let him pay me back than have him hauled off to jail! So, ok, I told him whatever he makes over what he owes me he can keep...hey, sounds like one of those "perfect parent" solutions.. whatever works!

He's already rounded up some helper/friends, will borrow a truck or two, great way to get rid of some furniture we'd just have to store or pay to have hauled off! and we all convince ourselves its in the name of charity! Like I said, whatever works!

DS is learning the ways of the world! He's offering his helpers a percentage of what he sells for their time and trucks. I think its called "trickle down economics" lol

Also, I like that this method keeps strangers from prowling around your home area, even if it is outside and keeps from trampling the lawn. They also have police supervision, just in case, because its all cash transactions!

Just talking----geez!

Most people like to purge stuff before moving, a garage sale is one way to do so, just mentioning I have a ready-made garage sale just when I need it, sorry you don't like my post! I thought other movers might want to keep an eye out for such community-wide sales, sometimes such might be going on and you miss an opportunity with all the other stuff you're busy with.....
