I moved without knowing Charlotte. I drove down for an interview and left the next day. Upon getting an offer, I flew in for one day and found my apartment within 4 hours. Although, I did not know Charlotte. I was on this site for months and doing research about Charlotte. I called my new boss and ask him where I should live and he pointed me in the same direction as my friend who live here. My choice of neighborhood was well picked. This is not an ideal situation for everyone, but for me it was a personal choice. I love my new home and job.

If it's a metropolitan area and you can't visit beforehand, try google map. It will take you visually around the neighborhood.
