I'm considering having my small move done by just shopping a bunch of packages via UPS or Fedex. The only thing is I don't have a car to take them to the store. Will UPS/Fedex do pickups for like 5-10 boxes if I prepay? Any other ideas?

Yes.

1st I would set up a UPS and/or FedEx account, So you can print / Pay for the labels on your own (It will save you money), Once you have your boxes ready to go, (You will need some sort of accurate scale to get the weight).

The Store will not just print you a label.

Click the Pickup needed, (There is a charge for each time they come to your home).

UPS also offers a "Pay the Driver" option. See
https://wwwapps.ups.com/pickup/sched...WT.svl=PNRO_L1
and click the first "No Labels" box, then click the "Pay Driver" box

You still create the shipment on-line ( # of boxes, weights, address, etc) but driver brings labels and you pay by check or money order.

BTW, your post title says Large Packages. Be careful of UPS's size limits if any are very large.

Yes, they will pick up.

You just go online, enter the info, print out the slips, tape the slips to the box, then request a pick up.

You do not need to weigh anything unless you think it is going to be over 75lbs or so (I forget what the standards are). Their system will weigh and size the box, then charge to your credit card. You will not be as accurate as their system is, so the weighing would just give you an estimate of the cost.

But you say "large", what is large?

Sorry, clarifying. Large meaning not Amazon book sized, more like average moving box. Not like smuggling elephant sized boxes.

Of course they will....you just have to jump through the hoops to pay for it and set it up.....heck...both have divisions that will pick up large skids of material weight hundreds of pounds.

Call their customer service...they will get you the options for your area and the cost and how you can pay.

You would need a vehicle/transport to station, but greyhound freight has been cheapest way to ship & receive antique furniture---crated.

Yeah, I was just going to suggest greyhound for big bulky stuff. FedEx and UPS can get expensive on big things.
