Worst city/state/place you've lived in?

I lived in Viet Nam for two years, 1970-1972. Hated it. Too much lead in the air.

All my life I wanted to move to California, and we did in the late 70's. After a year we couldn't leave fast enough. Nothing against Californians, I am sure there are a lot of great people there, but it just wasn't for us. Plus, it was just too expensive, even though we were both making good money.
