Default Moving Companies

We're about to get our first estimate from a moving company. Our move is going to be only about 12 miles - but a whole housefull. What questions should we ask? Anyone have any recommendations for moving companies in central NJ?

Default NJ Movers

In the past two moves we have used Allied, but recently requested an estimate and after two weeks we had to call to find out when they were sending the estimate to us. They emailed the estimate, and it was to the Bronx instead of upstate NY, no corporate discount, and estimate was extremely high given the amount of goods to be moved. I'm very disappointed in their total lack of customer relations. I would stick with the well-known companies, but forget Allied in NJ.

Make sure you ask the rating. every driver has a rating. it ranges from 1 to 5 the higher the rating the better the driver. Check the insurance they are offering as well. I would check out United Van lines, or National Van lines, or even Atlas. My husband was in the moving business for 12 years and his rating was at a 5 for many years. The ratings shows the drivers business ethics, and if he had damaged goods when arriving ect.
