Hello all,

I was wondering what your views are in moving a dresser. It's okay (solid wood), and I have heard mixed thoughts on moving the dresser with clothes in the drawers vs. empty.

I would prefer to have the drawers filled to save space and not have to box the clothes, but I thought I'd check here for some who might have experiences with it.

Thank you!

I move them empty. I don't want people seeing my underwear or socks.

Thanks for answering, Meemur.

I was thinking I'd wrap the dresser with blankets and cling wrap after the drawers were closed.

The weight is the same either way. Full it uses less space in the truck than empty with bins. Well wrapped it should be fine.

Blankets around it, and shrink-wrap it and it will be good to go.

Wow, ok, moving a dresser with the clothes in it- what a great idea! Sounds funny but we never did that!

Seems a no brainer to me, they're built to hold clothes, may as well let it hold clothes while moving. Saves having to put stuff into boxes and take stuff out of boxes once you get there, too.

Yep, you're right of course.

I feel silly for asking, but I just thought I would get some input.

I appreciate your help!
