I have lived in three states in the past two months. I had mail forwarded from first state to a po box in the second state. I had to leave second state quickly for third state and will soon have a new address. How do I deal with this? Presumably there is forwarded mail sitting in the box at second state. Would I set up two mail forwards, both first state and second state to third state? Would the postmaster remove mail from the po box in second state and forward to me?

Yes, I definitely understand I can go to or call usps and speak to them about this. I just want to get an idea of what I might be looking at in terms of getting my missing mail.

I think you are right. Two mail forwards from both previous locations to the third location.

Yes, you can cancel the previous forwards and do a forwarding correction to the present address. You can do it online, no phone calls needed. You will have to pay $1.00 by CC or DC only to prove you are who you say you are. This happens all the time, and the USPS deals with it just fine.
