Do people prefer living in Canada over the US or vice versa?

Would you support your reasons why?

thanks

Canada is nice, but they need to do something about the weather.

I don't remember how many times I have been there. The first time was as a kid in 1941.

My opinion is that only the people who have actually lived in both places can make really valuable input.

Otherwise, people who have always lived in one or the other and like it will say they prefer where they are.

People who have always lived in one or the other and have strong reasons not to like it may say they'd prefer to live in the other place.

Neither of those groups has any real-life experience to base their views on.

But since you asked, I live in the US and I have no desire at all to live in Canada. My family is here, my home is here, our jobs are here, I really like the climate (SoCal), I'm not worried about guns, and my healthcare coverage is fine, so I would have no reason to prefer Canada or any other country.

I'd guess that most Americans are too unfamiliar with Canada to really answer the question. I've personally never been there, and have little knowledge of it. It's just a big mystery land to our north.

I think I'd be happy with either, although I like Canada's climate better. It depends on where in each country - as long as I'm within driving distance to mountains/skiing, I can make do.

My ex-wife was a Canadian citizen, but she became a US citizen. Same with my neighbors. I don't know anyone who moved to Canada and became a Canadian citizen.

I can't handle cold winters so I have to choose USA.

Hmm, let me see, i live in the US; life is just fine here and I do not have to consider moving anywhere else. Dumb question imo.

The majority of Canadians prefer living in Canada and the majority of Americans prefer living in America. I have dual citizenship and have lived on and off in both countries for over 70 years. I prefer Canada as my steady home because it has less people and is more laid back with less of the social, criminal and financial problems that typically result in places with higher populations.

The Canadians I know all want to be Americans. Americans just want free Canadian healthcare, without having to pay over 50% in taxes in order to have it.

Having lived on the Canadian border, and spent a lot of time there, as an American, it's a nice place to visit. Granted, I've only ever been in British Columbia and Alberta, so maybe my mind would be changed in another area. But, the weather is all farther north than our worse weather, so I just can't see preferring to live there year-round, anyway.

My Canadian friends are all snowbirds, choosing to bail for the winter. There is nowhere in Canada that is snowbird territory, like here in the US. Canada doesn't have a Florida or California.

It's an okay place, but I wouldn't lose my citizenship here to move there year-round, that's for sure.
