Have you heard of this auto shipping company?
Trinity Auto Transport??? So far they have quoted me the best price. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them or heard anything about them??

I did a lot of research before shipping my car across the country two years ago, can't remember if Trinity was one I researched or not, but I went with Dependable Auto Shippers and was very satisfied. One word of advice whoever you use, make sure they are an actual shipper, not just an independent shipping BROKER (third-party middleman).

Is there any extra research needed to find out if they are a broker? Or will simply asking them work?

movingon2vegas,
I have not had any direct experience with Trinity Auto Transport but I think I may be able to give you some pointers nonetheless. I have been considering shipping my car from CT to CO this summer. I have done about two weeks of research on this so as to make an informed and intelligent decision.
Anyways, I do not know the particulars of your situation but I have just written a blog post about my experience in trying to figure out what to do to get my car from point A to point B in the cheapest way possible, and I think you might find some of the info and links useful. Please let me know how this works out for you.
You can read it here: Working the Numbers: Finding the Cheapest way to Get Across Country
Have a nice day.

We are moving from NJ to CA in Oct and will be using DAS. They are highly recommended by everyrone that used them. We searched for quite some time before finding a reputable company. And their price is great.

How long is your transport supposed to take? I just got a quote from DAS for a move from WA to TX in August and the price is fine, but it takes 12 days. Yikes.

check movingscam.com - they have reviews on a lot of auto shippers. I used one from CA to NY called Golden Key. They were great, although my car took longer than expected due to a late pickup. It was about $1200 - not the cheapest, but they came recommended. Dunno what routes they do, however - I know DAS has more routes.

As noted above, be sure you're dealing with an actual shipper, not a "broker".
I've had cars transported all over the USA for the last 30 years, and the worst experiences were always with "brokers" ... who simply put your transport request up for bid and the first trucker with space going your way gets the load.
Unfortunately, there's lot of "fly-by-night" shady characters in the transport business, without proper insurance and without any ethics re damage to your vehicle enroute, or at the delivery point. I've seem some of them make a point of dropping a load off at some very late hour in the dark so that the car didn't get scrutinized too closely as everybody just wanted to go home for the night. The next morning, a inspection in the sun revealed the damaged car ... with the trucker long gone and paid in cash or certified funds. Filing a claim was now impossible ... or if the damage was noted at the time of delivery, the trucker simply denied any responsibility; even if you had documented pictures of the car just before loading and after is was on the transporter, the trucker still wasn't going to file a claim with his insurance.
Folks like DAS and Horseless Carriage were always way too expensive for my transporting, but they are direct businesses and very reputable. If they're a few dollars more for your transport, they may be worth the schedule and cost.
