Default packing
I have 4 weeks before I move cross country-how many boxes a day should I pack?

Depends, do you live in a one room apartment, or a 20 room McMansion? I would guess at least 4% of your stuff a day so you have a couple of days to load them for the actual move.

we live in a 3 br condo-about 2100 sf. I hate packing!

I'm packing (leaving in about 2 weeks) currently. I started with the stuff we're really not using such as things in the attic and garage. Start early so you have time to throw away, give away, and sell things as needed. Some stuff just has to wait until the very end. For us, the computer, alarm clocks, lamps, etc.
