my dh has agreed to hire packers for the kitchen only. Is it a mistake to not have them do everything?

Tallie- it depends on your situation, time frame, and budget. A lot of people will have a moving company pack their whole house, but that does add a lot of cost to the move. I know when I had a 8 month old and pregnant with the second, All My Sons Moving & Storage packed my whole house for me. One thing I did that helped was I had the packers label the boxes by the room they were in and did not have them mix up any rooms. Yes, I had some boxes not 100% filled, but made it a lot easier for unpacking. I then marked the rooms at the new house so they knew where to put them. I also had some stuff go into their storage so I labeled all that with a big X so they knew not to pack it. Hope this helps with your decision - I had a great experience with All My Sons if you do decide to hire a packer.
