So long, crap!
Whoo-hoo! Only 3 more weeks before we pack the core of our entire existence into a sub-compact sedan and head 1500 miles across the country to start our new and exciting life as world-travellers.
Tomorrow we're putting EVERYTHING we own out on the sidewalk for strangers to buy for a buck or two.
Next week we're making one final circuit selling off our company's last overstock and samples.
By August we'll be 100% crap free!
By September we'll be over an ocean and living out of what we can carry on our backs!
Let's hear it for wanderlust!! WHOOT!

Double woot! Stuff just weighs you down with all the responsibility for taking care of it. Pretty soon you find your stuff owns you.
Happy trails.
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Anybody remember George Carlin on Stuff? "Actually this is just a place for my stuff, ya know? That's all, a little place for my stuff." He was so right....buy a house just to put all the "stuff you have collected! I loved that!!

Thanks, all. The sale went better than I thought. Less crap for the thrift store donation and a few more bucks for the trip.
I'll point you to our travel blog when we get it up and running.

I hope your travels are going well. The reason I am posting is the "crap" issue I am facing. I am 60 years old, on social security disability, have a 12 yr old daughter and a wonderful wife of 26 years. Ever since I was layed off 5 years ago we had to sell our home in San Diego and move to the Phoenix area. Moved twice since living here and we just want to settle down and make one more move back to the Midwest where it's cheaper to live and schools are better... Rent here is taking too much of my pension. We are thinking of just selling everything we have (except for the piano) to avoid the hassles of packing and moving thus avoiding the $7-$8K moving costs. Hate to part with our stuff but then again it's just stuff. Would this be the right thing to do? Can we ship the piano and perhaps some misc items seperately? Anyone else face a similar situation? Thanks.

wow, no time like the present to make that move. Good luck-what an adventure. As for shipping the piano--I have no clue.
