We are reserving the truck this week! But I'm concerned about how much the truck can hold in practical terms, since "three bedrooms" isn't really a precise measurement. I don't have a volumetric measurement of my stuff, so much is in boxes, but was wondering if anyone can say practically what will fit, like 4 dressers, 2 beds, a fridge, 3 wide closets, etc. Anyone? Thanks!!

They rental truck agents should be able to help you with that. What I found when we moved (just recently) was that the truck I thought was big enough wasn't. Fortunately a friend who helped move us was a great packer, and what we couldn't get into the truck we were able to fit into the back of the F150 and our SUV. Just make sure that you pack from floor to ceiling - you also don't want anything shifting during transport.

Budget has a Truck Size Calculator that might be helpful. You're right, though, it's always the boxes that throw off the calculations .....

ETA: I just realized that this is an Australian site, and will give you results in cubic meters. Oops!

Penske also has an online "Wizard" to help you determine the necessary truck size. It may be more useful for you.
