Question First time FAMILY moving out of state. Any advice?

Hello my family plans to move out of state for the first time from VA to FL. My mother here in VA is a LPN (studying to be RN). We have to move out by the end of the year anyway so we were hoping this is our chance to move to FL. Does this all sound too rushed?

We can't move until the end of the year when the contract here is up. This is very confusing because it is hard to look for a job available now in Florida.. considering we won't be moving from Virginia until the end of the year. Is there a better way of timing this?

The same goes for the housing. We hope to find a house to buy but if we have to rent we will. Which should we be looking into first a house or a job?? How would I get the job like this??

I am also worried that because she is a LPN there is a lot more problems. With less than a year of hospital experience (as a LPN) looking for a job will be A LOT harder, plus the fact many places do not hire/need LPNs. I am totally confused as to how i should approach this, does anyone have any helpul suggestions?

Research the job market. What is the demand for LPNs in the areas of FL you'd like to move to? What is it that you do? Are there jobs for that? Go to sites like Monster or Indeed to start getting some information. Maybe someone could suggest a job site for nurses and other health care professionals. I don't know any myself, unfortunately.

I wouldn't buy right now.

I agree - find a job first then housing since the latter is much, much easier to secure than the former. Depending on where in Florida, research the hospitals in that area and see if their websites have "job openings". Although your move isn't going to happen for quite a while, you can start poking around now just to see what's currently available in order to get a feel for what's possible.
