When we moved to Maine years ago we used Allied Van Lines. No complaints. They stored our stuff at their facilities in Portland at company expense while we lived for 3 months in temporary housing. Once we were ready they delivered to the house 3 months later.
A colleague of mine used Bekins to move to Maine. She had many problems, details of which I do not recall.
maja, will you be renting or buying in Maine? Will your new employer help pay to store your stuff until you found your permanent residence?
