My husband and I had planned on relocating to the Charlotte North Carolina area last year at this time. We got married in Sept. 07 and figured it would have happened by spring or fall of 08 the latest. This is something that we talked about and researched for a few years. Due to the falling economy, my husband's company did not add a new location in the area and there were no management jobs at their current location. We have several friends in the Charlotte area who are just like family to us and its just so hard to be apart from them. We go and vist them about 3 times a year. We just came back from my godchildren's communion and we had such fun staying there. They live in Indian Trail. We were there for 5 days and it was just so hard to come home. Has anyone else been depressed while visiting the area they were supposed to move to?

Default I feel the same way too!!!

Everytime we go visit our friends back in the DC/MD area, we are EXTREMELY sad when it's time to leave and come home, (Charlotte). I definitely know how you feel - I love going to visit, but when it's close for the trip to end, I find myself becoming more and more sad while we're there!

I had hoped to be retired and living on the gulf coast of Florida by now. Well, I'm retired, and there are so may great homes for sale in Florida it makes me dizzy, but unfortunately the prices have dropped just enough in my area that I have had to delay the sale of my home. I just hope the sales pick up in my area before they pick up in Florida, or my plans may be on hold for a while. Everytime I go down to visit I find it more and more difficult to leave.

Uh...YES. Depressed indeed. I've visited Georgia, and North Carolina, which were places I was considering relocating to. I also, have been back a few times, to my hometown the Maryland/D.C./Virginia areas, and, for various reasons, my move has been delayed, and it's driving me nuts. I'm so ready to leave, and be in, one of the areas I mentioned above. My advice, just be patient, but try to make the move happen, before something else, gets in the way.
