Default Moving from NJ to PA

We are hoping to move soon from Northern NJ to the Lehigh Valley. Has anyone made that move recently that can recommend a moving company? Also, how much should I expect to pay movers?

Even though you’re not moving far, you’re crossing a state line which means your mover must be licensed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Your charges will be based on the size of your home and amount of packing, crating, valuation, unpacking etc. services you require.

You should arrange at least three in-home estimates from reputable local companies or van line agents. Be careful though. Jersey is notorious as a cesspool of unscrupulous rogue movers and deceitful move brokers. Check the series of article at my blog located just under my name about ‘How to Find a Reputable Mover. You might also refer to the NJ Warehousemen’s and Movers Association NJ Movers - Movers in NJ - New Jersey Moving for members near you. You can check a company’s complaint record at the FMCSA’s Protect Your Move.gov website at Protect Your Move

The next few weeks are traditionally the busiest time of year in the moving industry so you should arrange your estimates and confirm your dates ASAP. If possible, avoid the first and last weeks of the month because it will likely be more expensive.

If you get stuck or need help, you can try giving Chaz a call in Allentown. He services parts of New Jersey and he’s as honest as the day is long. http://bit.ly/zO2BK
