We bought a 8x20 flatbed, tilt car hauler for $900, has already paid for itself. We are going to put side rails on it, use it to move stuff before the final move.

U haul trailers are about the only long haul rental options, and they know it. Their maintenance is the pits.
I've rented truck/trailer combo from Penske, well maintained, but they don't rent the trailer by itself.

I've rented numerous U-Haul trailers and they were poorly maintained. On one the lights went out. On the last one a wheel actually broke off! A true nightmare.
