In the spring I drove from Duluth, Mn to San Francisco. It was a rough 1800 miles in 3 days ie; no money, had packets of oatmeal to eat, (well you get the picture) but I was grateful for that, knowing how the economy has hit us all. Since I was headed to work, how could I complain except not being able to enjoy the trip. This time I am driving from San Francisco to North Carolina with a little more time to plan and the ability to buy groceries. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for different routes, site's to see along the way, etc.. Budget is still a concern but better. With more time to enjoy this trip I want to make the best of it. All ideas welcome.
