Hi everyone. I will be moving from Dallas, Tx to Massachusetts in March of next year and am looking for any tips on the easiest way to do this.

My fiance and I are on a tight budget so will probably be doing this ourselves, however we have two dogs (1 28lbs and 1 50lbs) that will be making the move with us. The larger dog is pretty good in the car, and will usually fall asleep on long car rides, the smaller is a handful in the car. I'm curious to hear from anyone who has made a cross country trip with dogs in a moving truck only.

I am planning on selling my car before we leave Dallas because not only will it not survive a winter up north, it won't make the trip with 230,000+ miles on it already. I don't think towing it is worth it at this point, would rather sell it and use the money to help with the trip. So I won't have the ability to drive in the car with the dogs while my fiance drives the moving truck. Had thought about renting a car, but it would be way to expensive.

I've been looking into several companies to rent from. Obviously Uhaul is last on my list, but I've looked at Budget, Enterprise and Penske. We will need to stop at least two times to sleep, once will most likely be at a hotel somewhere in Tennessee, and second will probably be at my cousins house in PA.

So any tips and suggestions would be super appreciated! Thank you!
