Default Moving tool chests...

We are going to moving in the next couple of months...
DH and I have been talking about how to best move (pack, secure & protect) the tools and the chests, both inside and outside.

Anyone have any ideas or experience?

TIA

How far are you moving?

I've moved my Snap-On taco wagons many times, and it's never been a problem for a couple hundred mile moves in a trailer or pick-up truck bed. I've got one of the old "roll-a-workbench" units with the roll-down front that can jam against the drawer trim strips, so I put a piece of cardboard inside that to keep it from the drawers sliding open and jamming it.

If you're worried about having tools shift around in the drawers, than sheets of soft foam cut to fit the drawers and jammed into place over the tools should help keep them in place.

If you're going a very long distance with the toolboxes and they're nice stuff, then wrapping them in moving blankets would help protect them.

Movers normally blanket and tape them. I've never had a problem because they are so durable.

Lay some bubble wrap sheets down in the flat drawers to keep things from sliding too much. Fill any deeper drawers with peanuts to keep things from jostling.

After that it is just a piece of furniture like anything else. Blanket wrap and shrink wrap around that to keep the drawers from sliding open.
