Yeah I know about the NOAA forecast discussions. I used to forecast weather in the Air Force and reading those discussions was a necessity in preparing for morning briefings.
To answer your first question, I can stay here in WA but I am recently laid off, so I don't feel like I'm "getting on with my life" by just sitting here in a packed apartment applying for jobs I cant interview for in person and such.
I know how the weather can change on a dime. A local dairy farmer was telling my sister that they haven't seen a winter like this since 1947.
If money isn't an issue, just consider it a vacation.
I used to feel a compulsion to be busy too, but thank goodness I've outgrown it.

Money isn't really an issue as of now. But not working is driving me nuts, and I haven't even been unemployed for a full two weeks! It's crazy. I don't see how people do this long term.

Maybe it's an age issue or something. I'm now 60 and haven't had a "job" in over 6 years and don't miss it at all. In fact, the thought of going back to "work" scares the hell outa me!
That's not to say I don't work. I do, all the time, but I don't get paid for it. Once you get past the idea of being compensated for working, you'll be surprised at how much you can find to do.

But there is that thing called money. How do you live if you're not being compensated monetarily?
I'm wanting to do this same thing, but I have 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 2 rabbits - LOL! Haha, yes I am serious. My dream is to move to Southern Utah. I hope to do it within a couple of years. Any advice? Anybody else have the same silly dream?
