I'm way too eager to get out of where I am now... I already started a moving list for myself. My family isn't even doing a scouting trip in NC until October. Definitely thinking far ahead.

Rocky Rose, good for you to be thinking ahead like that! A move takes so much planning and surely starting early like that must be a good idea. Now is a good time to be thinking about what you want to take, and what you want to throw out or donate. I think that after a move, many of us feel we have moved too much stuff that we should have just tossed.

Thanks, CCc girl! I just hope nothing messes up the deal between now and closing, in about five weeks. Inspections are next week and once that is over things should start to fall into place.

I agree so much about it never being to early to start selling/donating/tossing! I thought I was pretty well decluttered, but when packing it turned out that I was throwing out about 2/3rds and packing 1/3rd.

Ugh, the pod has been here since Wednesday. I keep worrying about the weather messing up my stuff, it's so hot now, should I spray for bugs, put in mouse bait blocks........? I haven't put a thing into it!

Gosh, I don't know, Ccc girl. It's awfully hot lately where I am. But then, what happens when they take the pod? The pod will be hot for at least a few days while moving, I'd think. It's a difficult issue.

I moved on July 1st, and it was 97 that day with lots of humidity (pretty normal for New Orleans I guess). My stuff wasn't damaged at all. But then, the entire move only took 5-6 hours because the two houses were only 3 miles apart.

Has anyone boxed up unwanted stuff that somebody else may want and take to an auction house ? I know I won't get rich but it is a way to get rid of stuff and get some pocket change. Glassware, full bed and chest, and just "stuff" Anybody done this and how did you do ? Other than that what do I do with all the stuff. I don't really like having yard sales for a lot of reasons. Do you do well on Craig's List. Sorry for all the questions but closing is in 6 weeks. I was just told yesterday. Thank you

CCc girl. Homosassa, still pretty rural and so beautiful. BUT I am concerned whether or not I can have some backyard chickens. I will have an acre with lots of trees. Do you know much about Citrus County ?
