Arizona is actually in the top 10, according to that list. California and Texas have so many people, that if that is an issue, it gets diluted. So, that may be the case.

LOL, spoken like someone who has never been here. 90% of MI is nothing like what is pushed by the media.

NM being on the list and MI not on it doesn't surprise me in the least after having been through both States extensively.

Much of the crime in New Mexico is related to heroin and other 'low-brow' drugs, especially in rural areas. In the cities, this translates to a bit of property crime with car break-ins and car thefts being the main issue.

The next biggest crime issue in NM is DWIs which are usually committed by people who are otherwise not engaged in criminal behavior.

For 99.9% of the population 99.9% of the time, it is a non-issue. It is not like you are taking your life in your hands every time you walk the dog. It is normal 'America' for all intents and purposes.

As far as violence spilling over the border from Mexico. No, not really. Except for the fact that contraband is smuggled through the border and driven out-of-state via the interstates, there is no real sizeable impact from Mexico unless you count seasonal agricultural workers, construction crews, and restaurant cooks.

Yup. Michigan's just as boring as Ohio is if you're outside Detroit.

Watching people get offended over wicked dumb statements never gets old. It's actually why I still post around on CD.

Well....I'm impressed, some no name, official looking website names a top 10 worst of anything and Kentucky didn't make the list. That's unheard of but, thanks. After reading almost all of this thread my complex is almost gone.
