I am curently a college student at Eastern Kentucky University, entering my third year. I am majoring in Tourism & Resort Recreation and hoping to earn a minor in Spanish. I am considering moving our of state after graduation. But where? And what things do I need to start doing now to prepare for this move so that I won't fall flat on my face?

Here are just a few things about myself that may influence a decision:

-I LOVE nature but I'm really a city girl. I've lived in Louisville all my life. Trees are a must. Water, absolutely love it. Some of my favorite places are where I can go sit and stare into the water. It clears my head. But I still need to be in the city.

-I love to party and be social. So nightlife is very important.

-With me being a really social person, I need to be where most people are friendly. I love to make new friends.

-I want to be somewhere where I can flourish in my career of course. My dream would be to run a casino or a cruise ship or something, I don't know lol.

-I don't exactly 'hate' winter, although I dislike it very much. Cold isn't really my thing.

-Low crime rate.

-I can't really cook, if that is an important factor. I hope to learn soon though.

-I am a very patient person. I don't get bent out of shape easily.

-I am mixed, as in race. I would like to be somewhere that has diversity.

-I love trying new things. It is what keeps my life interesting. Any place with lots of different things is a place for me!

:::Another note, the only place I've ever really thought about is Florida, maybe California? But I have no idea where. I want to learn about other states too!

Alexandria maybe? I would suggest somewhere along the Gulf, but after the oil spill it's going to be a while before tourism picks up =(

Egypt, of course. But it sounds like you want to be in Miami.

Hello from your Southern exurb recently transplanted neighbor (Hardin County). I think Norfolk/VA Beach may be a possibility. Tourism is key in that region with the Beach.

I was thinking San Antonio, Galveston, Corpus Christi or South Padre Island.

If the oil doesn't make it to the Texas coast, those last three places should gain some tourism business.

It's in Virginia, just south of D.C. It's a wonderful city from the little I've seen. It's full of history and has many lovely places to eat. It's located along the Potomic River and offers great views of D.C. As for nightlife, I have no idea, but think it might be worth investigating.

Also, if you want to run a Casino, I'd advise getting any job you can in one. It's one of the few businesses left that you can still work from the ground floor up. The only problem is that they aren't really hiring (at least not near me in A.C.).

In Texas I would go with San Antonio it's got good nightlife with all the bars and restaurants on the Riverwalk dozens of hotels downtown and several nice resort hotels in the area. You have all the tourist attractions like the Missions National Historic Park,Tower Of Americas and of course the Alamo,La Villita,Market Square

San Antonio Texas official vacation and visitor information. San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. :: VisitSanAntonio.com

Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce

Corpus and South Padre could work but I don't think they have the nightlife compared to San Antonio South Padre has a few bars and clubs though and the bars on the bay have a beautiful view of the sunset over the bay I know SPI more than Corpus.

South Padre Island - Be Yourself

South Padre Island, Texas Chamber of Commerce

Club Pelican West

Club CHAOS - South Padre Island Night Club

Wahoo Saloon: South Padre Island, Texas

Corpus

while they arent's big cities you do have Brownsville and McAllen which aren't too far that have shopping and restaurants McAllen has nightlife
