I love swimming, and I found waters in NYC beaches to be warmer then those of San Diego.
And most people need a wet suit on the West Coast.
Going past Santa Barbara the water currents change, and the water temperature because colder dramatically.

BUT the weather is nicer, because of the cool ocean waters.
I will have to pick East Coast, because of the warmer swimming waters, plus I found there was more to do on the East Coast beaches when it comes for fun.
Just a personal pref.

The only cool thing about the east coast is New York City.

East Coast, but I do like the west coast suburbs.

East Coast has everything.

This is tough, but I'll have to go with the West Coast. It feels younger, more open and expansive, cleaner, newer, shinier, with more possibility and opportunity. Outside a few of its major cities, the East Coast feels the opposite. I love the architecture, history, and diversity back East though.

After living on both coasts, I would say east coast by a mile. Just something weird and disconnected on the west coast.

Yeah the west definetly feels exactly what you said. I also think the west suburbs look better, but I still think the east has the total package.

I wanna know which side people think is better. All factors included: politics, population, scenery, "funness". Don't just choose that side because that's where you live.

MAKE SURE TO SAY WHY YOU CHOOSE THAT SIDE!!!
Naw, you want see people throwing up E's shouting eastside but that's largely because thankfully gang culture is nowhere as prevalent in the East as the West (One reason I choose the East over the West). Other reasons are the diversity of climates, scenery and cultures on the East Coast. The East Coast also has more cities.

But when it comes to actual beaches neither wins. The South Coast (Gulf Coast) beats both of them out with it's beautiful sand and near perfect waters.
