Greater Southern California-Arizona Sun Corridor
I'm curious as to whether people from the major cities of Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas consider themselves "united" in a cultural or physical sense as one large mega-region. Or rather view themselves as their own prideful separate entities like I do with San Diego .
Being from San Diego I almost feel a connection with all, however I wouldn't see how Phoenix fits in the equation. Maybe that's why in the below image it is it's own mega-region.

Interesting map.
Here's that link again for everyone else:

A megaregion is a large network of metropolitan regions that share several or all of the following:
Environmental systems and topography
Infrastructure systems
Economic linkages
Settlement and land use patterns
Culture and history

only Phoenix and Las Vegas, because these 2 cities can't be united with Los Angeles/San Diego, for fiscal reasons.

Fiscally speaking, I would say that Vegas is more closely tied with the SD and LA because the city gets so much traffic from them. It's the playground of SoCal . But maybe I'm wrong in that regard.

I've heard that as well. Isn't it only like a 2 hour drive from Las Vegas to Los Angeles?

Pretty much. Depends on how fast you're driving . I would say more like three though? The distance from San Diego is a bit farther, but it only adds an hour.

I consider here in San Diego as Los Angeles's little brother lol. Phoenix is kinda like San Diego's ugly half sister. Las vegas is like the awesome cousin you visit a lot.
I do consider all 4 tied because people from each of these cities travel between each of these cities. i know people from San diego that travel to Phoenix.

Haha maybe you're right about Phoenix, but it is a lovely city.
I have an uncle from Phoenix that was always flying out here in San Diego for business. I would almost call the area The Southland instead of referring to the GLAA as the Southland.

^^^ This. Minus Phoenix being the ugly half sister part, lol. I found it to be really pretty.
By the way, why is Tucson left out? It's such a nice city that happens to fly under the radar majority of the time. My favorite city in USA!

No, don't get me wrong, I like Phoenix too. it is very pretty with the cactus and what not, but I said that because it's just in the middle of the desert. A very beautiful desert at that.
Tucson is left out often times because people forget about it. That city is lovely too.
