I am moving from a small town in Wyoming to Auburn Alabama for school, and I was just hoping someone could offer me insight on what kind of culture shock I can expect? I have spent a few days visiting Auburn, but never in the summer time (I understand the humidity will be a big adjustment) and I didn't have a lot of time to really tour the town. Other than my short visit to Auburn, I have never been to the deep south so any information is appreciated

Well, it's the South so you can definitely expect to see (more) Black people, and it will definitely be warmer. And there's, of course, the cuisine (grits, sweet tea, barbecue, soul food, etc.). But you'll be in a college town which tends to be at least a little different than your typical Southern small town.

Auburn is a pretty cool town..but downright HOT in the summer..more rain..very thick southern accents...football is HUGE..alot of "southern belles" still...fashion and church are still important to most women. Haven't been there in over 15yrs though, but had a friend who went to college there..it will be interesting what you think
