Default Dallas Farmers Market

Dallas has the only farmer's market in the country that's open 7 days a week. It is conveniently located downtown with a DART station nearby, so you don't have to drive. If you do drive, there are two large parking lots. They hold cooking classes year round with every food specialty you can think of. They schedule events celebrating state and national holidays throughout the year.

Not only is produce sold, but there's a section dedicated to butchers, seafood, and other specialty food items. The local butchers will happily cut it your way.

The artison section contains local furniture makers, jewelry makers, artisans, etc. The furniture maker is a local family that will take custom orders.

My favorite is the Nursery section. Every one of them has very knowledgeable staff to help you landscape your yard.

El Mercado Cocina Mexicana Restaurant is on the grounds to satisfy your tex-mex craving.

I can spend hours there. Here's the link to their website:

Default La?

From what I read there are several really great Farmer's Markets around LA/Beverly Hills--in that general area.

In Atlanta we have several. The one closest to me is good--very utilitarian type of facility. A nice selection of tea and ethnic foods.

Years ago--I guess it is still there--south of the city there was 'The Farmers Market'--the only one. Farmers from South/Central GA brought the produce straight from the fields. We went in the summer for --peaches, corn, tomatoes, watermelons, canteloupes, apples and in the fall --sweet potatoes, turnip greens and fresh sugar cane and sorghum/syrup.
