That sounds like NY, but I'd say more mixes with Polish, German and even Native American groups too. In Northern NY, you get French Canadian mix. You get some of the Portuguese mix in Downstate NY.

I was also thinking that my old HS here in Syracuse was very Irish Catholic. There were kids in my graduating class with last names like Kelly, Ryan, Walsh, Murphy, O'Donnell, McNamara and O'Connor, among others.

Once again, Boston is a bit tricky.
I've lived in Boston for 8 years now and we have a bit of a problem(as do many other cities)
If you want to live a nice area(think Back Bay,Beacon Hill,even Fenway), you are going to lose all the culture.It is all tourists,students or businessmen. If you want culture you have to move into a less desirable neighborhood(think Southie,Dorchester,Charlestown)
