Hello all,
Many times I've come across articles which mention how someone bought their property on the internet. Oftentimes these buyers purchase a property quite far away from their current home, and don't have many opportunities to check out the area or the property itself. The articles I've found usually just mention it in passing without much explanation of how it's done. My hubby & I are planning to buy a home in the not-too-distant future, and we're open to a variety of locations. So, I thought I'd put a few questions out there to all of you, because I'm curious if people have done this throughout the US...

Have you or someone you know "bought a house on the internet?" If so, were you able to see it first, and are you happy with the outcome?

Was it a realty auction site, an online listing, a developers' site or something else? In other words, how did you find it?

Is there a website that lists homes by price and amenities but allows a country-wide search?

Any tips or things to be aware of when using this method for house-hunting?

Thanks in advance for your responses!
