You're saying that it is less consequential to discrimate against someone who isn't black (you are very wrong, by the way), therefore, it's ok that the rest of the country discriminated against Asians, Jews, Mexicans, etc.

I'm not buying it. Discrimination is discrimination, people are people, and one doesn't have more worth than another.
he's saying that discrimination towards blacks has had a bigger impact on our nation's history, I believe.

I can see where you are both coming from. I think relations between English and Spanish speaking peoples is the best example of widespread racial issues in this country today. I realize language does not define race. But I did not want to just say Hispanic-White relations, because I think Hispanic-Black relations is equally, if not more, strained right now.

Impact on history is irrelevant, and also debatable. If someone says "Oh, the South has a racist past, so it must be full of bigots now" and ignores their own racist past, then that person is being judgemental and bigoted.

People are people, no matter their color, and it is no more acceptable to discriminate against Mexicans, Jews, Asians, or any other person.

....the South's image is not hard to sell at all because we have songs like "It's a Dad's Life" from Church on the Move in Tulsa. Listen to the 2nd guy in the rap lineup and you'll hear the vintage Tulsa Twang.
