What's going on specifically in the Midwest concerning 'green innovation'. Is this resulting in jobs? Are we going to see a trend among start-ups and techbiz locating in the Heartland for the fraction of the price for capital?
Is the midwest the new 'India' in terms of outsourcing from the Coasts?
Silicon Prairie is the nickname given to Dallas. Lol.
But this is quite interesting, I do not know enough about America's heartlands to comment.
I've heard Chicago referred to as Silicon Prairie before, mainly due to Motorola and Ameritech (before they merged with AT&T). Also, Chicago is Microsoft's 2nd largest employment center outside of Seattle.
Milwaukee is trying to attract "green-collar" jobs to the area and has been pretty successful at it. So far, two Spanish firms have set up shop in Milwaukee's industrial Menominee River Valley. Talgo produces high speed trains and Ingeteam produces windmills.

Chicago also has a pretty sizable Google presence. And not to mention Accenture has a HUGE presence in Chicago in USA. It is one of their main USA hubs. There are possibly 1-2 other cities that can say the same in that matter.
I say the more tech presence you can get the better.
