Hi, like many of you I'm looking for some ideas about what area of country would be a good fit for me and my husband. We currently live in North Florida.

I've always had this dream that one day I would move west and live in/around the mountains. I love trees and greenery so barren lands (like Texas I believe) would depress the h*ll out of me. So far our thoughts are Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon and Washington, but are open to any and all suggestions. The only requirement hubby has explicitly given is that there must be high-speed internet and fed-ex must be able to find us. Some of the things I would like to do if I moved west would be to go rock climbing, learn to ride a horse (confidently) and go ice-skating. I've always been a wuss when it came to cold weather, but am looking for a change of scenery, and hubby is about tired of the humidity down here.

Your thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Salt Lake City and Denver, or areas nearby come to mind. A less obvious gem but always high on those livability rankings is Fort Collins, CO...a beautiful small city about an hour or so north of Denver.

What about something in Upstate NY near the Adirondacks or Catskills?
