I want to move so bad because I feel like everything kinda sucks here, crime is out of control, the schools are broke and cutting all programs, and the jobs suck( or at least the ones we got) and there is nothing to do. So is there anywhere else in the country that people actually enjoy the beauty of where they live and everything seems to come together? I would love to wake up everyday and look at the ocean but I know its expensive and we probably can not afford it. But just somewhere that is beautiful with good schools and low crime, I feel like its impossible to find such a place but maybe?
Has anyone ever moved somewhere without a good job first?

Hi,
I'm sorry no one responded yet. I think this is a great question. When I was 18, I moved to cali, at 20, I lived in az..I also lived in other states through the years. Now I'm back in my hometown/city prov. However, id like to relocate again. Its tough because nothing is perfect.
And yes I have moved without a job or money.
I stayed with friends until I got an apt. It took me 1 month. Another time I stayed at a cheap motel that offered monthly rates until I found an apt. U need at least 500 bucks and ambition.

Check out the Charlotte and North Carolina forums. I think you'd see that you're not the only person who has considered this at the least!

I was very close to moving to Atlanta after I got out of college. I didn't want to go back to my hometown in South Carolina with one red light, people who I didn't mesh with, and nothing to talk about but gossip. I wanted to be part of a vibrant city where I could meet people like me and have a lot of fun. I never did it and I'm glad I didn't, but that was my personal opinion. I think a lot of people move without jobs. If you're young and don't have children to feed, it's a lot different than playing Risk and moving your whole family without a job. I question if situations are that miserable to go through the trouble, but they must be. I can't say--I've not experienced it.

I will say, though: Life is too young to say shoulda/coulda/woulda but didn't. Do your research and bust your behind--if you want to be near the ocean, nothing is stopping you....make a move before it's too late--but don't look at any movies before you do so, thinking you'll live happily ever after. Unfortunately, life isn't perfect like that
