20 minutes by car in Syracuse; 7 1/2 miles. Not even on a highway... just city streets.

I can't even fathom a 300 mile daily commute (150 miles one way?!)

I have an uncle who commutes from Shelton, CT - Newark, NJ (80 miles) -- That's horrendous every day, he sometimes crashes at my moms house because his shifts can really pack a punch (so he saves the trip home and back by staying nearby). I think he's nuts.

I commute about an hour or a lil over to school, it's not so bad, I don't mind parts of the drive, but at parts it gets insanely crowded and my road rage kicks in. Still, it's not that bad cause I work my classes out so I only go Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I have cousins who use Amtrak to commute form Boston to NYC which is about 3-4hrs depending on what they use. Sometimes they go down to DC thats about 6-7hrs. They enjoy it , make a decent amount of $$$$. I have a cousin who commutes to Hong Kong form Newark once a week for a week.

My commute is 4.7 miles one way. During morning rush hour, my drive can be as long as 10 minutes! LOL

A story I read a few years back says a man commuted from Georgetown IL to O'Hare airport, 350 miles RT. He had grown up there and moved back to help his ailing father, who had since passed away. He continued living there because he and his family had gotten comfortable with the place.

Right now, I have a 10min commute each way. I feel anything more than 30-40mins each way is too much.

I did Dorchester Ma (Part of Boston Proper) to Smithfield RI for about a year. 100 miles round trip exact (500m/week or 2k/month!!!) It was a reverse commute in the morning and all highway. Would hit the gym after work then clear sailing home.

Was about 45 min each way, but man the gas was expensive, plus the wear and tear on your car.

Glad my job moved to boston perminately. Now I hardly even drive because I take the 'T' and i'm at work in 15 minutes! holla!

I've been interviewing for jobs that would require a one hour drive (40-50 miles) into Louisville. The killer is paying for gas. The silver lining is that those coming in from Louisville's Southern surburbs/exurbs have I-65 North at a 65-70mph speed limit with low traffic for most of the way.

I'm about 10 miles from my job.
It can take anywhere from 20-30 minute one way.
