America's worst cities/metros
Ranging from lack of community to relentless sprawl, what U.S. cities or metros would you classify as the worst to live in? Why?

Miami-Dade County, Florida. It has both the lack of community and the relentless sprawl! It also has third world like education systems, incredibly high crime, arguably the rudest people in the United States (or is it an American city?), corrupt government, horrible traffic, sour job market prospects, low wages, and an extremely high cost of living. Do not know how it can get worse than that! I nominate for both the city, and Miami-Dade county as a metro. I do not think South Florida as a whole is horiffic, even if it sucks in a lot of ways (I live one county up from Miami-dade), but Miami-Dade is.

The drivers in Southeastern Florida are terrible too, however, with a wide variety of beautiful women, the ocean, palm trees and attracitive architecture I don't see how anyone could hate this part of Florida.

Phoenix Arizona is right up there. Las Vegas close behind.

Miami is a beautiful place to VISIT! I will tell you though, living here is a whole different ball game. Although I am in a nice suburb outside of Fort Lauderdale and generally enjoy living here, the difference between Miami Dade and surrounding counties is stark. Here, the main limitations are high costs of living+low wages and (in most cases) poor public education. In Miami-Dade county, it sucks in every category. Honestly, I think I have it all out here, but boy do you pay! . I am about a half an hour outside of Miami, btw, but they consider this the Fort Lauderdale area.

Fort lauderdale,
I kind of understand your pain concerning the language barrier. Several years ago my father and I were at a Wal-mart near Miami International Ariport and everyone around us only spoke spanish. We also recieved alot of stairs and we are African-American.
