An immigration boom from Africa ? Yes, seriously, watch the numbers :

1991 to 1999 : The US accepted 337 986 immigrants from Africa
2001 to 2009 : The US accepted 759 092 immigrants from Africa
Growth = + 125% (+ 421 106)

Numbers for some countries:
Nigeria 1991-1999 : 59 401
Nigeria 2001-2009 : 97 837
Growth : + 38 436 (+ 65%)

Ethiopia 1991-1999 : 45 205
Ethiopia 2001-2009 : 95 473
Growth : + 50 268 (+ 111%)

Egypt 1991-1999 : 41 236
Egypt 2001-2009 : 64 099
Growth : + 22 863 (+ 55%)

Somalia 1991-1999 : 17 756
Somalia 2001-2009 : 59 592
Growth : + 41 836 (+ 236%)

Kenya 1991-1999 : 11 792
Kenya 2001-2009 : 52 279
Growth : + 40 487 (+ 343%)

Pretty impressive
And I guess they will be more to immigrate in the US during this decade, and they have many babies so we can expect a boom of Nigerian-Americans, Ethiopian-Americans, Somalian-Americans...etc...
What do you think about it ?

Well, they tend to be the most educated immigrants in the US right now. So, I don't see why it would be an issue with them coming over. African immigration to the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Demographics and Statistics of Immigrants : Asian-Nation :: Asian American History, Demographics, & Issues

Also, don't African immigrants have a higher percentage of people with degrees in higher education in your country(France) than the national average as well? I read this in a NY Times article about a couple of years ago.

We have some doctors from Africa yeah, but honestly most of the african immigrants in France have a low education, I can see that...They live mostly in ÃŽle-de-France, in the Greater Paris, in ghettos. They're not really integrated.

They're the most educationally successful immigrant group. They're fine by me, I have had a few Ghanaian/Nigerian friends in Hackensack (NJ)- They're great, harmonious people.

Yeah, and the US population becomes more diversified again, with much more cultures and languages

Where my daughter taught in the south Bronx, she said there were many Africans. She told me how a lot of the mothers didn't even know how to write their names, but the fathers usually had good jobs and were well-educated.

Most of my black friends here are from Nigeria, Ethiopia or DR of Congo.

We need more of them. I love all the variety here

According to the article, they have a hard time make a way in French society and that this was even with the higher percentage of those with a degree in a country that is about 8-9% Black.

I wish I could find the article, as it also gets into the increasing cultural awareness within France and issues that the community faces.

Also, the educational attainment can vary by ethnic group/nationality too. Nigerians tend to be high on the list, for example. Some of this can be attributed to how said people get here. Meaning, some volunteerily and some come as refugees. You see this with Asians too.
