Since I was a young girl, 50 some years ago, we have been told that the coastline in America would be sinking. And now it is. So, I predict we will have a totally different coast than we do today; in other words, no Galveston, Atlantic City, Tampa and other cities built below sea level. That's a pretty safe prediction to be right, also.

lol, the country splitting up?

i doubt it. the general public seems to apathetic to even vote much less do something that radical

apathy is the number one problem
lack of individual responsibility is a very close second

i'll stick with the flying cars and leave it at that

oh and one of those hovering skateboards from Back to the Future would be great too, although I may be too old to use it :P

Interesting post, here’s my take
50 years from now there will be over 500 Million people in the USA, (if you’re wondering why everything is crowded now, checkout lines, restaurants, road traffic…. It’s because there are a 100 million more people than when you were a kid in the 70’s) 200M more people add a lot of competition to the mix- housing, jobs, food, everything.
The youngest of the baby boomers will be dead and buried! The huge glut of people born between 1946 - 64 will be gone. There will be a lot of empty nursing homes.
The United States is going to spend all of the 21 century and probably the 22nd trying to get the rest of the world “up to speed” and its going to be a slow go.
The USA is going to become more Socialist, Paternal, or Maternal and this is going to cost money, taxes will go up and along with the 200 M extra people the standard of living for the working class will decline, smaller homes, They will be renovating those 60 year old Mc Mansions into duplex’s!! The Educated specialist will do well (just like they do now) but the worst part will be the lack of upward mobility.
There will be much more market fragmentation with almost no mass market. Sirius will have 600 categories of music. 1000’s of everything.
Healthy lifestyle will lessen many diseases, better nutrition, no one will smoke cigarettes.
Wal-Mart will become more “upscale” and some other super cheapo will take its place. In 1900 the number one category of worker was domestic servant. In 1980 it was retail sales clerk in 2057 it will be specialty services personal trainers, cooks, bottle washers you name it they will be doing it for you.
Will people still value their family and friends and want the best for their kids? You bet. Oh blah de oh blah da!!

All of the present baby-boomers will be dead because of old age and lousy health-care.Will probably will have close to a billion people.China and North Korea could become super-powers.I think cities like Miami and southeast Florida cities will look like New York City, because they will have built vertical all the way to the everglades This could be the most densely built area per square mile in the country unless a hurricane wipes it out. Metropolitan Atlanta pop.will comprise the whole state of Georgia . The whole east coast will be densely populated with an urbane look.California will no longer be ,because of the San Andreas Fault.Arizona and Nevada will be part of the West Coast.

The only way America can survive is NWO. Plus they already started it.
Everything and everybody will be under nazi like control. It will be the only way they can think of to prevent total caos. Also ensures protection of their finacial power. This is only 10 years from now. I'm not sure we can make it to 2057. Look out for more space station programs.(only exit)

The greedy will be to blame.

I hope the climate is the same as it is today.

I hope guns are less plentiful, and that we haven't had anymore Columbines.

I hope we are out of Iraq by then, and that the country and the world has forgiven us for manipulation, psychological warfare and needlessly invading a country based on faulty information, or propaganda.

I hope Paris Hilton gambles her money away and lives in Compton

I hope there will be a cure for cancer.

I hope minorities, homosexuals and women have achieved equality.

I hope we can further our missions in outer space.

I hope technology doesn't take over the natural environment.

I hope the truth about 9/11 will be discovered, and confronted.

I hope the dirty politics of today become cleaner.

I hope English will still be spoken, and that South America hasn't taken over by then.

I hope that our government will have compassion to those affected by horrific natural disasters, especially those who are less fortunate.

I hope, by then, that people will be more courteous on the interstates.

I hope that we, as a country, can unite as one instead of being black, white, yellow, straight, gay, fat, skinny, Republican or Democrat.

I hope that America will learn to be more progressive than regressive or stagnant.

I hope that Republicans will realize what real conservativism is.

I hope that Democrats will unclog their ears and point their noses away from the sky.

I hope that modesty will overtake materialism, and that the desire for power will be replaced with the desire to help.

I won't hold my breath...
I hope all of that happens a year from now rather than 50 years from now.

I hope not because I want Savannah,GA to be around 50 years from now, and not underwater.

Used to live there and it was beautiful.

Microsoft releases Windows 2057, SP1, which contains many fixes for Internet Exploiter, version 20. The minimum required resources will be 2 tera-bytes of disk space, a 500 GHZ processor, with at least 200 gigabytes of cache memory, and 1 tera-byte of RAM. As a result, Microsoft's stock closed up at just over $250 a share.

Congress is still debating the illegal immigration issue, and whether to give the 100 million illegal immigrants legal status. They're also trying to work out a compromise to secure the southern border. The debate is expected to end on February 12, 2057, before congress goes on a one-month recess for Valentine's Day.

Osama bin Laden, Jr. released another Hi-Def Blu-Ray DVD message informing the United States that he will take revenge on the United States for killing 10 of his female sheep, and 4 camels in a bombing raid last month. The homeland security department will keep the terror alert green.
