Well, I do care. I want Chicago to remain the 3rd largest city in the country. I'm not even from Chicago (I'm from Ann Arbor, MI, and actually associate myself with Detroit as far as major cities are concerned), but maybe it's great for regional (midwest) recognition to have a city that is ONLY surpassed by two undisputed Alpha World Class cities. Chicago's image is benefitted by being right behind New York and Los Angeles in population. Infact, I wish Chicago was still the 2nd largest city in the country.

To be fair, the Rockets did start out in San Diego, but they've been in Houston for 40 years. I still don't know anyone who hasn't associated their name with Houston's role as the major NASA city.

People on CD too often think that because they have never heard of something it doesn't exist. But I think it is difficult to escape the Houston/ NASA connection because when the actual program was consolidated and expanded it was Houston that was in the forefront.

I admit there is the space coast in Florida, but Houston has been the space city for a while. I have heard Space City and Bayou City, but never oil city. In fact before I moved to the United States I had heard of both. Didn't hear much about the energy capital name until I got here.

My family is a mutt too. I just found out that we have french on my mother's dad side and we have Native American on my mother's mom side. I guess that's why mama has really long hair. I think a lot of African Americans are mutts because the slave master had babies with the slaves. It's strange because my mother's brother is light skinned and has hazel brown eyes but my mama is brown skinned and has dark brown eyes.
