It is chains that are exclusive to one area is what is being discussed.

I do know for the St. Louis area for example has a large number of local chains. This is even moreso if you consider some that may have some stores in outstate Missouri or Illinois or a couple in neighboring metros. (often either KC or Memphis) But have the majority of their operations in the St. Louis area.

Well, I'll have to rely on my fellow Jersey posters - we're not known for chains.

Rubio's has been in AZ for awhile. They used to be called Rubio's Baja Grill, now Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill.

In-N-Out Burger has had AZ locations since 2000.

Podnuh's BBQ in Shreveport and Monroe. Strangely looks like those Luther's BBQ down in South Louisiana and around Houston.

Mac's Fresh Market in NE La and Central La. Supermarket.

Numerous convenience stores and gas stations-Kangaroo, Spirit, NowSave, etc. located in NE La.

Fiesta Linda and San Miquel Mexican restaurants and El Jarrito.
