I too am descended from the colonies original founders on both sides, specifically 1630, before the Roosevelts and many others with long histories in this country. Other than Native Americans there were approx 500 Europeans in New England (Mass & CT) at the time. They were whalers and a line of Oxford educated renegade clergy who founded several towns, and a couple of states, with resulting museums, statues, and markers. The Puritans were strict in their outlook and one forebear was much persecuted for his attendance at the first Quaker meeting in the colonies held in Mass late 1600's (not the much later one in Pa one you hear about) whose democratic ideals I attribute to the real foundation of freedoms in America. Several well known statesmen and presidents fall in my heritage.

English, Irish, Dutch, Danish, and one recent grandmother who was French Canadian w possibile Native American blood.

English, German, Dutch, Cherokee, Irish (and I show it), Scottish, one very fair grandparent nobody knows where he came from, and my oldest kid is part Mexican and Dominican too with my Irish freckles. If he brings home an Asian wife we'll have it well covered.

We are all SOOO mixed up over here.
