This thread is really getting ridiculous because no one seems to be able to state an opinion about Texas without being offensive, and using generalizations and stereotypes.

You're probably right about the IDK. I can deal with the silly acronyms better than the HAH

That isn't what I said, mpope409. I think you messed up the quotes, but we get the picture.

That's okay. I practically said the same thing without using acronyms, but I got a chuckle out of ILNC's HAH.

It isn't your fault. I know it's the "thing" with teens like you. It is just a pet peeve of mine, but I'm nearly old enough to be your grandmother. Like I said, at least you weren't swearing and that's a good thing.

This does not speak for all of Texas which is very gorgeous to me. Especially the central and northeastern regions.
I agree, the drive to Shrevport LA (the casinos town) from Dallas is a very nice drive. lots of pine trees, and green, it gets a bit hilly 800-900ft hills. Tyler area is nice geographically but there's no industry,,, 1.5 hour drive from Dallas too far.
I wish I lived in a place that beautiful but have job security too. Austin is nice, country hills rivers and good night life,,, better nightlife in Austin that Houston in my opinion. Dallas is ok. ok night life, ok area to live, lakes are nice though... so a bit of everything everywhere in TX but not everything in one place. The hot weather bothers me a bit in July and August when it gets 95-100F usually, also the fact that in TX every big city is far away from the others. like on East or West coast you drive 1-1.5 hour and you already saw 2 big metro/city areas... In TX you have to drive 3.5-4 hours at least to get from Houston to Dallas or to Austin, San Antonio etc... too much driving too much open wide space. other than that you find lots of stuff and scenary to see in TX... my advice, Southern way of living is not for everyone, be ready to endure more of the heat, longer driving due to lots of open space, lots of flat areas, and be open minded in terms of cultural diversity.
